About the Assessment

The USPTO Leadership Assessment is a tool that measures your competency and proficiency compared to the requirements of your leadership level. You will receive a confidential feedback report.

Competency expectations for each level were developed based on findings from executive interviews, employee perspectives through focus groups, and best practices.

This USPTO Leadership Assessment will be very helpful to supervisors, managers, and executives who want to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities. But USPTO expects that there is leadership potential in every employee, and wants every employee to have the tools necessary to promote leadership throughout their careers.

We also want you to have convenient, electronic tools to use to prepare development plans - tools that are compatible with other learning aids in the Leadership Development Program (LDP). You should find it easy to use the feedback from the USTPO Leadership Assessment tool to prepare a Leadership Development Plan.
